Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
-Robert Frost
HOW CAN I HATE YOU?
I shall leave you
If I have to.
I shall forget you
If I have to.
I shall forgive you
If I have to.
If I have to.
I shall forget you
If I have to.
I shall forgive you
If I have to.
But I shall not hate you
Even if I have to.
How can I hate you,
Whom I have loved so devotedly
And so unreservedly?
Even if I have to.
How can I hate you,
Whom I have loved so devotedly
And so unreservedly?
-Sri Chinmoy
